A 6.4-magnitude earthquake struck southern Turkey after a strong earthquake hit. The earthquake occurred in southern Hatay province at 8:04 pm local time on Monday.
Turkey's disaster management agency AFAD reported this information. An earthquake struck the city of Daphne in Hatay Province. AFP journalists felt the quake in the cities of Antakya and Adana, 200km to the north.
An AFP journalist from the scene said that Monday night's earthquake spread panic among people. A layer of dust has formed on top of the debris from the previous earthquake in the new earthquake. Besides, several people injured in the earthquake were seen seeking medical help.
On the morning of February 6, an earthquake of magnitude 7.4 occurred in the border area of Turkey and Syria. More than 41 thousand people died in Turkey alone. More than 6,000 aftershocks were felt in Turkey after the earthquake, AFAD said.
